Flutterby butterfly

A visual concert for children aged 8 and up in collaboration with the Insectarium de Montréal, un Espace pour la vie

A visual concert in collaboration with the Insectarium de Montréal, un Espace pour la vie and Une école montréalaise pour tous.

Created in February 2014 as part of the event Butterflies Go Free (Papillons en liberté)

Let your children be swept away on a voyage of sound and vision inspired by the four stages in the life of a butterfly (egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly).

On stage, the two performers will guide the young audience through the different phases of a butterfly’s development with the help of music and sounds. Alternating with music, the performers move and manipulate various pieces of visual art. Animated videos will also be projected on screen in true flipbook-style, accompanying the musicians in movement.

This metaphor for metamorphosis will raise children’s awareness of visual arts and mixed music (instrumental and electro-acoustic) – and show the birth of a beautiful butterfly on stage!
