Year 2009-2010: creating and developing

Posted on June 10th, 2013

As the season begins, Le Moulin à Musique is thrilled to welcome you in its brand-new Website.

A new season – the 29th– begins in an exciting way with the arrival of a new head of marketing and communications, Pauline Marchand.

Throughout the year, the artists of Le Moulin à Musique will be going out and meeting children in theatres, schools, libraries and day cares with the same passion and purpose: opening children’s ears and eyes to music.

Highlighting the year is a new production entitled Pierres blanches. Under the direction of Marie-Hélène da Silva, the creative team (director Martine Laliberté, composer Michael Oesterle, choreographer Karina Iraola, set designer Catherine Tousignant and lighting designer Mathieu Ferdais) will be working in residence at the Maison de la culture Maisonneuve from January 4 to 10, 2010. The team will continue its residence at the Maison de la culture Rosemont-Petite-Patrie from January 11 to 14 before opening the production at Jean-Eudes hall on January 13 and 14, 2010. In addition, a cultural mediation project supported by the Libres comme l’art program (a CAM and MELS/SEM partnership) will give a group of children from the St-Jean-de-la-Lande school in Montreal the opportunity to be involved in the production’s creative process and be on stage during the performances.

To underline its presence on the Canadian market this fall, Le Moulin à Musique will be included in several showcases, namely Violin on a string in New Brunswick’s Contact East event and La Maîtresse rouge (The Red Teacher) at the FrancoFête en Acadie event. In addition, Madame Violon will be going out to meet Franco-Ontarian audiences, more specifically in the Ottawa area. See our schedule for more details.

Go to the Productions section for the shows, events and workshops we will be offering throughout the year. Teachers looking for special activities might be interested in Le secret de la maîtresse rouge, still available in partnership with the Culture at school program – this initiative helps organizations welcome the event at a fraction of the cost. Do not hesitate to drop us an email in the Contact section. You will be the first to know all about the company’s madcap projects!

See you soon,

The team of Le Moulin à Musique
